Why visit before buying?
Wall beds are 80% the same on paper. The 20% that matters — gas-piston smoothness, edge fit-and-finish, mattress depth, panel thickness, color match under HK humidity — only reveals itself in person. A 30-min visit eliminates 90% of regret.

Watch us release + lift twice. Then YOU do it twice. Note: gas-piston should feel light, smooth, predictable. Lift should require ~2-3 kg of force. Bed lock should engage with audible click.
Materials + finish samples
Touch panel samples (laminate, melamine, veneer, lacquer). See finish under HK humidity. Compare edge banding quality (PVC vs acrylic). View hardware: Häfele German vs Sellex HK.
Mattress depth + sleep test
Lie on a deployed unit for 3-5 min. Feel mattress depth (200mm standard vs 100-110mm sofa-bed-thin). Test edge support. Feel headboard angle. Most users don't know mattress depth matters until this moment.

If you brought your floor plan, we'll do quick fit assessment. Discuss approval process, timeline, payment terms. NO sales pressure — we don't take deposits at showroom; you go home and decide.

- Floor plan (PDF or photo of architect drawing) — this lets us assess fit at the showroom
- Your flat measurements — total floor area + ceiling height + bedroom dimensions (W × L)
- Photos of the wall where wall bed will go — outlets, switches, structural features
- Your phone — record the mechanism demo for later reference
- One concrete priority — "minimize daily friction" or "maximize storage" or "lowest budget" — helps us recommend better
- Your timeline — moving in 3 months? 6 months? Just researching? All fine — affects our recommendation
- Whoever lives with you — partner, family member — important they also try the lift
10 questions to ask at the showroom
- Is this gas-piston system serviceable in 5 years? Answer should be yes — Häfele/Sellex parts available HK-wide.
- What's the cycle test count for the hardware? Häfele 4500 cycles. Sellex HK 2800 cycles. Anything <2000 = avoid.
- What mattress depth does this fit? Standard answer: 200-220mm. If 100-150mm only = thin = bad sleep.
- Show me the panel thickness. 18mm = budget tier. 25mm = mid. 30mm = premium. Edge banding should be 2mm PVC minimum.
- What's the warranty? Frame: 5 years standard. Hardware: 2-3 years. Mattress: 5-10 years per brand.
- Do you handle estate management approval? Should be yes — they prepare the AP/RSE structural certificate package.
- What happens if my flat ceiling is 2.5m vs 2.7m vs 3.0m? Should have specific configurations for each — not "we'll figure it out".
- What's the lead time? Standard: 4-6 weeks production. If shorter, ask why (off-the-shelf may compromise fit).
- Can I see a real installation in a real flat? Some clients allow site visits. Ask if any are open this week.
- What's the de-install process if I move? Should be 4-6 hours with HKD 4,500-8,000 service. If "we don't do that" = red flag.

FAQ
Will I be pressured to commit at the showroom?
No. We don't accept deposits at showroom visits. Decisions happen at home with a written quote. This is intentional — pressure-free showroom = clearer thinking. We don't want regret-buyers.
Can I bring my parents / partner / interior designer?
Yes. Up to 3 guests free. 4+ requires advance notice (showroom is medium-sized). Designers welcome — many of our consultations come via interior designers and we work well together.
What if I just want to see one to satisfy curiosity (not buying soon)?
Welcome. Many visit 6-12 months before buying. Showrooms exist for research. Just be honest about timeline — affects what we recommend.
Is this WALLBED KING's showroom or yours?
WALLBED KING's. Wallbed by Design is a marketing-and-consultation partner — we arrange visits there for our consultation clients. There's no separate "Wallbed by Design" showroom. This setup keeps our advisory independent.
Cantonese / English / Mandarin support?
