Yes. Wallbed by Design uses the American SBLM patented mechanism with a failsafe locking system that prevents sudden drops. The dynamic load capacity is 750kg — far exceeding any real-world usage.

The mechanism has been tested for 100,000+ open/close cycles. There has never been a safety incident in our 500+ installations.

Installation requires anchoring bolts into the wall. When properly installed on suitable walls (concrete/brick), there is no structural damage.

If removed in future, bolt holes can be easily filled. We assess wall suitability before installation.

Standard installation: 4-8 hours for a single bed. Complex installations with full cabinetry may take 1-2 days.

We strongly advise against DIY installation. The SBLM mechanism requires precise calibration, wall anchoring must meet structural standards, and incorrect installation voids the warranty.

The SBLM mechanism can be uninstalled and reinstalled at a new location. However, the cabinetry is custom-built for your current wall dimensions, so new cabinetry may be needed.

The valuable mechanism itself moves with you — only the cabinet shell is location-specific.

Generally yes for HOS (居屋) flats. We are experienced with HOS installations across Hong Kong.

For public housing (公屋), there may be restrictions on structural wall modifications. We recommend checking with your estate management office first.

Most private estates don't require approval for interior furniture installation. However, some building management offices require notification for installation dates (for lift booking and noise control).
